Welcome to Illini Cycling!
Illini Cycling is a competitive bike racing team at the University of Illinois. Illini Cycling was originally founded in 1989 by Ray VonFouche and Nels Hackl under the name of "Illini Bike Racing Club". Since 1989, the club has undergone some rather dramatic growth. We now boast a massive roster of competitive team members in the different disciplines of mountain, road and track bike racing.
Our mission is to provide competitive cyclists and enthusiasts alike with an opportunity to develop and display their cycling talents.
As a member of the National Collegiate Cycling Association, Illini Cycling competes against other collegiate teams in both the Midwest Conference and at the national level. For further information about the team, group rides, or contact information, please click the "about" link above. Want to join the club? Click here.

Email Update: 8.22.07
For those of you who are not recieving emails (either due to technical details, or unreadable quad day sign up), below is the email just sent out to the club:
Today's quad day event was a tremendous success! Our booth generated a lot of enthusiasm from many new faces. Thanks to those of you who came out. A special thanks to Adam Honegger, Jess Cole, Erik Martin, Jamie Kimberley, Steve Burkhead, Adam Stone and Lindsay Koren for coming out to answer questions, help with setup, and welcome newcomers to the club.
As most of you now know, our first meeting will be tomorrow, Wednesday the 22nd at 8PM in English Building Room 108. In addition to the typical first-meeting agenda, we will be discussing the following important topics:
Racing: We have two available race venues in the area this weekend for mountain biking. A collegiate race will be held at Mizzou Sat./Sun. and a NORBA race will be held at our local course, Kickapoo State Park on Sunday. Read up on these events here and here. We will decide who is going where, arrange transportation, and decide what time we will be leaving. If you would like to race, please show up to the meeting!
Clothing: Our order is expected to be here the week of the 11th. We have two race weekends on the schedule prior to that time. We have a very limited quantity of clothing for racers. If you are interested in racing and have no team clothing, we have a few (!) clothing pieces available. First come, first serve. An additional small amount of spare clothing will be available for those interested when the clothing arrives the week of the 11th. I also have a bunch of I Ride Bike shirts, socks, and other pieces available (some at a huge discount) for those interested.
Lastly, group rides: I have updated the group ride schedule on our website (see here). I hope to have a weekly mountain bike ride scheduled soon, and I also hope to find a time that works best for a womens only ride.
